The Bad to the Bone Duathlon is a run - bike - run format. The same run course is used for both runs. There will be one water station at approximately the half way point for both the run and bike. More will be added as dictated by the weather. There will also be a water station in the transition area.
During the running portions of this race (3.4 miles each), the competitors will tackle a wide variety of topography and surfaces. From level asphalt with slight to moderate grades, narrow hilly woodland trails, to flat wide grass trails, this race will live up to its name!
The bike route (25.3 miles) will take you along portions of the Big Bone Scenic By-Way, through Rabbit Hash (the center of the universe), and along the Ohio River. Bikers will not only get a breathtaking view, but you will be challenged beyond expectations as you tackle tremendous hills aptly named the "Evil Twins" and break neck flats and curves.
